The Hauser Lake Volunteer Firefighters Association

The Hauser Lake Volunteer Firefighters Association, Inc. (HLVFA) is an organization within the Hauser Lake Fire Protection District. Membership in the Association is limited to the volunteer Firefighters, EMTs, and Support personnel of Hauser Fire. The Fire District’s paid employees and commissioners are excluded from membership in the Association.

The purpose of the Association is to hold benefits and raise funds for, to provide assistance to, and to promote the best interests of the Hauser Lake Fire Protection District.

The Association is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) under the US Internal Revenue Code. It is the entity that handles donations made to the Fire Department and funds raised through events. Donations made to the HLVFA are tax-deductible.

Fundraising Events

  • Yard Sale at the fire station (May 15, 16, 17)
  • Shalena’s Breakfast with Santa (second Sunday each December)
  • Candy Cane Run (Food drive to support our food pantry)
  • Spaghetti Fundraiser
  • Chili Cook-Off
  • Assist Finklebinder’s and Maddie’s with two free community holiday dinners

Community Service

  • Roadside trash pickup in and around Hauser Lake
  • Open Houses at the fire station
  • Maintain the Food Pantry at the fire station
  • Collect donations of eye glasses (near the pantry at the fire station)
  • Assist other organizations with fund raisers (including Double J Dog Ranch and Newby-ginnings of North Idaho.)
  • Community event signs on Hauser Lake Road and Clover Leaf
  • Participate in community events around the area, such as the Rathdrum Days Parade, North Idaho Fair, and North Idaho Fire Services Academy, to promote safety and fire prevention and connect Hauser Lake with our wider community.
